You started a small business a few years ago, or have just taken over a family business, and things have been going pretty well under your leadership.  You have a steady flow of engaged clients, and you are finally making some decent money.  The only problem is, you are winging it and getting nervous because you don’t have a definitive plan for the future growth of the company.  Your staff and your family are depending on you to continue to grow the business, and you know you need some sort of a plan, but you have NO idea where to start!  We understand how lonely and confusing growing a small business can be at times because we have been there too…  We know that the thought of developing a business plan can be overwhelming, and even a little frightening.  The important thing is to get started and break the process down into manageable portions, so both you and our staff are following the same road-map to the same destination.  The Numbers Divas Strategic Business Plan, customized for your business, includes two primary phases:  Business Analysis and Strategic Plan Development.  Don’t worry about how to accomplish this; we will expertly guide you and your staff through the entire process.  Together, we will create an in-depth revenue plan based on your goals, complete with an implementation how-to guide, and customized Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), to monitor your progress against goal every month, so when issues arise, they can be addressed immediately.  No more guessing or worrying if you are on track if you will have enough cash to pay your bills or to make next week’s payroll….What a relief!

Strategic Planning & Business Consulting

Strategic Business PLAN

Ideal for:

Entrepreneurs who have aggressive revenue goals and are focused on exceeding them. This is the perfect solution for you if you are unsure about how to market, position, and price your products and services to ensure maximum profitability in your marketplace, or if your staff does not understand the big picture, how their responsibilities contribute to success of the organization.

Company Size:
Gross Revenue between $1M and $20M, 5 to 30 employees.

Phase I: Business Analysis – Current State:
We analyze your Year-to-date financial statements and document the existing policies, procedures, issues, and pain points that need to be addressed/resolved in your customized Strategic Plan (Phase II).

Financial Statements:

  • Profit and Loss (YTD): Income sources, Product and Service offerings, Markup, Profit Margins, Cost of Goods, Overhead expenses, Payroll/1099 contractors, monthly and yearly trends, and your business cycle (seasonal, annual)
  • Balance Sheet: Cash on Hand, Accounts Receivable, Inventory on Hand, Capital Expenditures, Accounts Payable, Credit Card balances, Loan/Line of Credit balances, and Owner Draw/Distributions
  • Statement of Cash Flows: Month-to-month trends, Seasonal cycles, Payment Terms, (accounts receivable and payable), Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)

Processes and Procedures:

Does a Process and Procedure Manual for your business exist? If so, when was the last time it was updated? Do all employees have access to a copy of the manual? If Processes and Procedures are not defined or the manual is out of date, we suggest the following:

  • Interview Business Owner(s) to identify overall company goals and key pain points (Revenue, Profit, New Product Lines, Process, Operational Efficiency, Inventory Turnover, Cash Flow, Staffing, Capital Expenditures, New Locations, etc.)
  • Owner(s) selects 5 key pain points to discuss with the staff in their interviews
  • Interview key staff to determine their role, responsibilities, and key pain points (as they see them)
  • Graphically depict the current operational procedures in process flow diagrams, highlighting current pain points, and opportunities for revenue growth and operational efficiency.

Phase II: Strategic Plan – Future State:
Now we can get creative and have lots of fun brainstorming! Now the findings from the business analysis phase are consolidated into your 3-Year Plan, customized specifically to your revenue and net profit requirements:

  • Owner(s) to confirm the key pain points that need to be resolved in the Strategic Plan
  • Review of Business Analysis – determine how to resolve key pain points, in priority order
  • Define Year 1, 2, and 3 goals for the following categories: financial, product/service offerings, staff
  • Process improvement and efficiency – how best to improve on current practices to ensure the plan becomes a reality
  • Graphically depict the desired Future State process flow diagrams that addresses the key pain points and KPI’s
  • Consolidate goals into a customized Strategic Plan, complete with priorities and a step-by-step implementation plan

Entrepreneurs who already have a 2 or 3 Year Strategic Plan, but lack the expertise or bandwidth to implement some of Plan components. Our Stand-alone services can be purchased ala carte if desired.

Gross Revenue between $800K and $20M, 5 to 30 employees.
Included Features:

  • Interview key staff to determine their role and responsibilities
  • How do you describe your role/function in the company?
  • How and when do you execute your daily and monthly tasks?
  • What are the operational and/or financial issues/pains associated with the current procedures you are following?
  • What are your suggestions for process improvement, and what are the benefits of these improvements (save time/money)
  • Graphically depict the current operational procedures in process flow diagrams, highlighting opportunities for revenue growth and operational efficiency
